They're Here!

The newest members of our family are finally here! 2 HANDSOME boys joined Brett and I on AUGUST 15, 2012. We were surprised to find out it was 2 boys, we guessed that we were having one of each. We both are so excited to have the opportunity to raise two little boys. We couldn't be happier with our little miracles!

BIRTH STORY:
Well for the last 2 months of my pregnancy, our little Wesley was Breech. Since he was the presenting baby we kept hoping that he would turn so that I didn't have to have a c-section. However, this stubborn little man stayed put so my DR scheduled a c-section for me at 37 1/2 weeks.
The morning of Aug.15th, Brett and I had to be at the hospital bright and early. We checked in at 5:30am and immediately the nurses started prepping me for surgery. Finally my DR arrived at 7:00am and wheeled me into the OR. I received a spinal block, which was really weird to feel your body go completely numb but still be aware of your surroundings. Brett sat by my head and was able to watch the procedure. I would of liked to watch as well, but the nurse only held the mirror up long enough for me to see the boys being born. I was only able to quickly give Wesley a kiss before he was whisked away. I didn't get to kiss Easton at all because he had to be taken straight to the nursery. His glucose levels were low and he had sporadic breathing, so it wasn't until about 2hrs later that I was able to see Easton in the nursery. It made me sad seeing him with an IV in his little hand, and not being able to hold him. I finally got to hold him later that afternoon! Easton was in the nursery for 1 1/2 days, and Wesley didn't need to be in the nursery at all.

Overall, both boys were healthy and doing well, and we were able to leave the hospital after 3 days. Brett stayed in the hospital with us the entire time and was soooo good with taking care of me and our babies.
I am so grateful for the ease of my pregnancy and delivery, and for the health of our babies. Also for my DR, the Pediatrician, the Anesthesiologist, and all the nurses.
Brett and I are extremely blessed! It's crazy how your perspective on life changes when you have children. The love you feel for them is insurmountable. I am so thankful for my eternal family!!

Oh so true. It's SO hard to explain the emotions and feelings that come rushing in once the babies join our families....but that's what makes it all so worth it.

Congratulations! They are beautiful {and yes...handsome} baby boys. I think they are a good mix between the two of you. I can't really tell with their eyes closed. ; )

Enjoy and rest up as much as you can....before they start crawling and getting into things. Ha ha.
